INNOCENCE (2011)

This lovely passage from Arthur Schopenauer has inspired this provocative series which was created in two different times inside a basalt cave shooting before and after the programmed wall explosion and collapsing.

White Rabbit: One of the many mystical figures that leads you into a hole of psychological discovery. Sometimes related to using psychedelic drugs like lsd, but also used in hypnosis and meditation to reach a desired destination (such as a different level of consciousness or location).

Photographic series inspired by thoughts, frustrations, dreams and visions of my great friend Roberto Di Simone (a polio survivor deceased in 2012) .
ANDROIDS (2008)
In a futuristic era, in the aftermath of a planetary catastrophe, humankind is almost extinct. A a few surviving scientists in an attempt to recover even merely the energies that once belonged to humanity, collect some body parts from among the debris of a destroyed world and assemble them on workbenches in the hopes of rediscovering the secret of the human spirit.
These reassembled beings are powered by electronic microchips that projects in front of them a pseudo-reality, which has no perspective but can at least recapture some of the meaning and symbolism of a world that has ended in self-destruction . Each anatomic therefore becomes a simulacrum of the traditions, vices, pleasures and pain that were once the bittersweet characteristics of humanity.
EMOTICON - SHIPWRECKED (2007)
"Crusoe/Emoticon has no particular features, he is just an aseptic container of binary codes, he is detached, neglectful....He certainly is not very nice, he exists mainly because of the stupidity of his "servant/Friday". Because of the emptiness surrounding him, he values "Crusoe/Emoticon" as someone to honor - this is the only way to make his worthless existence worth living. This figure typifies an autobiographical experience with virtual reality (community web, chats, forums and virtual platforms): For some time it got too much of my attention, so afterwards I wanted to make fun of it, using ridiculous symbols. "
